1/2 June in Maggiora Reverse

The Italian Rallycross Championship starts again: after the spectacular appointment of Easter and Easter Monday , the weekend of 1/2 June will see again the protagonists of the tricolour RX, always in Maggiora Offroad Arena, but in Reverse conformation, that is to say, they will turn counterclockwise instead of clockwise. After the positive debut in 2018, with tight and spectacular races, thanks also to the presence of the Joker Lap just near the finish line, Sport Club Maggiora, promoter of the Championship, has decided to propose again in 2019 the Reverse appointment.

As per tradition, the programme includes Saturday scrutineering and Q1, while Sunday will see Q2 and Q3 in the morning and Q4, semi-finals and finals in the afternoon (from 16.30).

The protagonists

Practically all the drivers present at Round 1 will be at the start, including the winners Simone Firenze (Kartcross), Marco Valazza (Super1600) and Gigi Galli (Supercar).

There will also be new drivers, especially in Super1600 and Supercar, to add a further touch of spectacle to these categories.

Among the new entries Alberto Palestrini, who will race a Renault 5 GT Turbo of the Scuderia MDS Tecno Racing in the Supertouringcar plus category, and Luca Cortellazzi, who will run in Supercar with a Mitsubishi Lancer.

So last year

In 2018 Maggiora Reverse was the protagonist of the last race of the championship: heavy rains made the first day of the race particularly difficult; the track then dried on Sunday allowing the drivers to give then on Sunday.

Marco Noris won (with his Mitsubishi Lancer that seemed to give out at any moment) in Supercar, Stefano Cerri in Super1600 and Gabriel Di Pietro in Kartcross.

Thelap records, all from 2018 of course, are as follows: Kartcross - Marcello Gallo (Kep Suzuki) 46"502; Supertouringcar - Matteo Valazza (Lancia Beta Montecarlo) 1'04"194; Super1600 - Silvano Ruga (Renault Clio MK4) 51"603; Supercar - Franco Mollo (Ford Fiesta) 48"328
