The Tricolore RX 2021 is also somewhat affected by the COVID pandemic: the Round initially scheduled at the Wachauring in Melk, Austria, on 2/3 October has in fact been cancelled.

The next Round will therefore be on 16/17 October at the Ittiri Arena in Ittiri (SS), where, after the postponement of the event initially scheduled for the beginning of September, people are working hard to welcome the Italian Rallycross Championship in the best possible way: "Ittiri - explains Gianni Marmillata, President of Rally Arena Group, which manages the Sardinian track - is preparing for this event, which will be organized in collaboration with ACI Sassari, with a lot of participation; the municipal administration has also been involved and is supporting us to carry out this rather complex and expensive project, which involves a quality leap for the track by inserting asphalt sections in order to make it suitable for Rallycross. We and the whole community are believing in it: expectations are high and it will be a great novelty also for us, both for the peculiarity of the discipline and for the fact that for the first time we will also host the paddock. Our friends from Sport Club Maggiora are acting as "tutors" and the works are going well; the track is almost ready, on 10 September we will lay the asphalt and in the meantime we are preparing the structures for the paddock. The track will be mostly the same as the one used for the opening Super Speciale of the Rally di Sardegna, and we have also added a sector for the start and the joker lap. We also expect a good participation from local drivers, who are very curious about this discipline. Ittiri is easily reachable from Alghero, it's only 20 km away, and it's well served in terms of transport: Round 6 of Tricolore RX could be a nice opportunity to spend a different weekend for drivers and spectators! "

Riccardo Fasola, president of Sport Club Maggiora, promoter of the Italian Rallycross Championship, is also enthusiastic: "We can't wait to go to Sardinia - confirms Fasola - the Round that will take place at the Ittiri Arenawill be an important step for the growth of our Championship and will also be an important junction of the season from the sporting pointof view : having Coefficient 2 will assign scores that could upset the rankings of the various categories. It will be an appointment not to be missed!"
