31 July/August second round at Castelletto Circuit

The next round of the Italian Rallycross Championship is fast approaching: the Tricolour RX will be back for Round 5, on 31 July/1 August, in Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV), at the Castelletto Circuit that gave so much spectacle in Round 2.

And it will certainly be a great show that weekend too, as the Lombardy round will also be valid for the Austrian Championship and the FIA CEZ (Central European Zone) Championship.

Many drivers from beyond the Alps have already entered, giving the race an extra international touch and increasing its prestige.

The reasons for interest are therefore many, and thanks to Coefficient 1.5 the overall rankings of the different categories could be overturned after this race.

RX5

Davide Riccio and the Hyundai i20 were the most consistent and lead the RX5 standings with 37 points, followed by brand mates Matteo Bonini with 23.5 points and Luigi Ricci with 23.

Super 1600

Silvano Ruga (Renault Clio) took advantage of the absence of German Nils Volland (Audi A1) in Round 3 and 4 and now leads the standings with 62.5 points, 8.5 more than the young German. Third position for the volcanic Paolo Barbieri and his small Citroen C2 with 42 points.

STC

The Czech Roman Castoral (Opel Astra OPC) has dominated the three rounds in which he has participated and leads the standings with 72 points. However, Matteo Valazza (Citroen Saxo) is growing and, just one point behind, is ready to take advantage of even the smallest misstep of the Czech driver. In third position, with 62 points, is Mattia Nicolini (Citroen AX).

Kartcross

Ten points: this is the distance separating the current leader in this hard-fought category, Marcello Gallo with his Lifelive TN5, from his closest pursuer, Marco Berniga (Planet Kart Cross K3). Gallo has 133 points against Berniga's 123.

More distant, exactly 30 points, Riccardo Canzian (Speedcar Xtreme). But with the Coefficient 1.5 the situation could be radically different at the end of this Round!

The programme

On Saturday 31 July free practice is scheduled: on Sunday 1 August from 8.30 am the 3Qs will start. From 4 pm Semifinals and Finals.

The public will be able to watch this great show live: tickets are already available online on the official website.
