A weekend not to be missed!

Anticipation is growing for the final two rounds of the Italian Rallycross Championship, scheduled for Nov. 4/5 at Maggiora Offroad Arena.

Round 7 will be held on November 4 : it will be run in Reverse conformation and the race will have a 1.5 coefficient.

On November 5 it will be the turn of Round 8, the final one, of course always in Maggiora Offroad Arena: it will be back in the classic conformation and the race will have coefficient 2.

It will all be decided in one weekend, among other things with the presence of some "guest stars" who will surely turn the tables in the categories in which they will be at the start.

Supercar

Speaking of excellent presences: the 2019 Italian champion, the great Gigi Galli, will return, obviously at the wheel of his Kia Rio, but in addition, of course, to the current leader, Marco Noris, this time at the wheel of a Skoda Fabia, it will be very interesting to see drivers of the caliber of Werner Gurschler (Ford Fiesta), Massimiliano Gilardetti (Peugeot 206), Alessandro Negri (Subaru Impreza) and Austrian Marc Schneider at the wheel of a Lancia Delta

RX5

The most eagerly awaited category, however, is RX5, where it will be possible to witness the final duel between leader Jenni Sonzogni (Skoda Fabia R5), at 163.5, and immediate pursuer Gianmarco Donetto (Skoda Fabia R5), at 156, with Fabio Mezzatesta (Hyundai i20 R5), ready to insert himself in the fight with his 137.5 points. Also at the start are Lucamaria Rizzello in a Skoda Fabia R5 and Rosario Montalbano, also in a Skoda Fabia R5.

STC

An absolute top trio for the STC-2000s, with his majesty Roman Castoral returning, with his ever-present Opel Astra OPC, to the circuit that has seen him win so many times, challenged by Marco Nicolini in his "small" but fast Peugeot 205 and the very likeable Dutchman Joe Van De Ven, who at least once a year shows up in Maggiora in his VW Polo. And it might just be the three of them who play for the title.

In STC-1600, season's dominant Valentino Ledda (Peugeot 208 R2) will have to contend with Franco Fusi (Renault Clio), Austrian Gunther Chmela (Citroen Saxo), Marco Valsesia (Citroen Saxo), Daniele Delfino (Citroen Saxo), Matteo Valazza (Peugeot 206) and Armando Tocchio (Peugeot 106).

Also interesting is the challenge in STC+2000 between points leader Gianni Saddi (Citroen DS3) and Luca Scabbia (Peugeot 207), only 4 points apart: 101.5 vs. 97.5. Defending champion Alberto Palestrini (Renault Super5) will make a desperate attempt to re-enter the fight.

Gianni Fornara will also be at the start at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Colt.

Kartcross

Riccardo Canzian (Speedcar Xtreme) will have the full weight of the prediction on his shoulders with his 225 points, but, absent Nicola Morlacchi, his most immediate pursuer with 191 points, it will be Nicolò Grieco (GMN Kartcross) who will attempt a resounding overtake, starting from a share of 187.

Also watch out for Marcus Martinelli (GMN) third at 177 and also competing with Ledda and Matteo Bernini (LifeLiveTN5) for the U18 Trophy.

Other riders at the start included former Italian champion Maicol Giacomotti (KC), Matteo Grieco (GMN) and Mauro Vicario (Speddcar Xtreme).

We remind you that admission will be FREE, also because the weekend of November 4/5 will be a real Festival of Motorsport in Maggiora Offroad Arena, as the 4×4 Experience will also take place.

4×4 Experience

In fact, those days will see the Ninth Maggiora 4×4 Experience, a multi-brand rally organized under the aegis of the Italian Off-road Federation that will involve hundreds of off-road vehicles from all over Italy.

Maggiora 4×4 Experience will feature a route, about 5 kilometers long, that includes routes of three levels marked by different colors, according to the most well-known classification of ski slopes, thus distinguishing their increasing level of difficulty.

The BLUE track is suitable for 4×4 cars in typical street trim, while the RED track requires some elements of preparation (such as roll cage, seat and racing belts). The most extreme track, marked by the color BLACK, will be intended only for highly tuned off-road vehicles.

The course will be completely natural, surrounded by greenery on roads that are normally closed to vehicular traffic and that climb the hillsides around Maggiora Offroad Arena, alternating with bumps and fords in the Sizzone stream; a twist area will then be set up, with potholes and elements of difficulty artificially created for the event, with some new features compared to 2022, to test the grip of the cars and the skill of the drivers.
